Good News Regarding Medical Care
This week, the Maryland Daily Record reported that our effort to stabalize the Affordable care act are having an effect. Initially, Kaiser Permanente requested an average increase in premiums of 37.4% in the individual marketplace, and in a later refiling, changed that to a decrease of 5.67%. That 43% swing was largely the result of our efforts to estalish a $380 million reinsurance pool, and it should allow more Marylanders to seek coverage.
